Design your own badge ID, eyeglass or mask lanyard or indulge in an affordable custom one-of-a-kind beaded jewelry creation by Pamela E Troutman, STAR*ART.
Make work fun by dressing up ID badges with my beaded necklaces. I use unique focal beads and my design feature is a beaded loop. Place the badge clip on your ID or holder and you can easily change from one lanyard to another to match your attire. You can also use the loop as an eyeglass holder, hang your keys, cell phone, or as a necklace (just unclip your ID at the end of the day and away you go!) It gives me great pleasure to offer you quality jewelry for your ID badge and sensational design for after work. I like to call it "functional jewelry".
My lanyards are sold at a government agency, so quality is very important to me.
I am also a proud member of the Etsy BeadWeavers Team. Search EBW TEAM for more beautiful beadwoven creations and visit our blog for links to all members’ shops: http://etsy-beadweavers.blogspot.com
Thank you for stopping by and taking a look at my jewelry.
Testimony from March 2012:
Dear Pamela,
I received the re-stringed lanyard and showed it to all my co-workers who loved it! You have my sincerest gratitude for agreeing to do this for me. Yes, I've owned it since 2007 and care to own no other. I have worked at several distinguished institutions where my lanyard caught a lot of attention and praise. Some of these places include, The Getty Museum, The Autry National Center for Study of the American West, Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA and USC. You can imagine my devastation when it broke loose in a busy L.A. shopping center and I crawled on all fours trying to gather all the beads (ha!). Of all the lanyards on etsy this one is by far the loveliest. I would not mind owning a duplicate. Regardless if all the folks who've shown praise since 2007 had bought one, I think you'd be overwhelmed with business. My sincerest thanks you to and God bless.
Kind regards,
Diana Lindberg

I find old jewelry and repurpose. Here is an acrylic necklace picked up at a yard sale that became two lanyards.

This is my beading corner. Bead Table, bead cabinet, and one of my mannequins for photos.
-
My closet has only shelves to hold my beads and craft supplies. The layout and craft table used to be in my home in VA.

Here is a polymer clay frame I made that was featured in Mixed Media Magazine.

Here is an example of my creativity - starting with a bag of odd beads, I created an Elephant pin/pendant.
Why STAR*ART?
STAR*ART was born when my passion changed from running a Shelter That Adopted and Rescued (STAR*) ferrets to making jewelry. The year 2000 was a big year for me. I remarried, became an instant grandmother, and looked for a creative outlet that would fit my town home and time schedule. Beading was it. I started simply - making beaded necklaces for my ID badge. Then co-workers started to ask for lanyards, and STAR*ART was born.
Why STAR*ART? Well, I didn't want to change my then e-mail address at the time (starferrets) so I incorporated my previous hobby name with my new passion and here I am!
I make beaded jewelry that stands up to everyday wear and tear. It has to, as I used to supply the "government store" with my lanyards when I worked and for several years after until COVID. I also stand by my workmanship - if there is a problem in the first six months of ownership, I will repair or replace your piece to make it right.
I use SoftFlex beading wire (fine and medium) along with glass, gems, pearls, and/or stone beads. If you'd like to have specific colors or a theme, I can design a lanyard for you. I accept unusual and special requests. I offer discounts for orders of 5 or more lanyards, and will do custom work for schools, teams, and businesses. I can make custom orders at the rate of one lanyard per day (order ten lanyards and I will have them made in ten business days.) These orders require priority mail shipping in the US and you will be charged the flat rate box price. Single lanyards are mailed first class in a sturdy mint tin or box to protect it during shipping.
My creativity passion is for necklaces and pendants that display bead weaving and bead embroidery techniques. I also started wire wrapping some of those cabochons that haven't made it into bead embroidery yet. I also dabble in polymer clay. Finally, I am branching out to create bead art pieces that are not always jewelry.
I've been successful placing first in a few jury competitions, and in 2021 had my earrings on display in the Albuquerque Museum. I had a space at Art A La Carte Gallery & Gift boutique in Occoquan, Virginia from 2013 to 2016. I moved to NM in 2017 and presently am in Amapola Gallery in Old Town Albuquerque since 2018.
